In the United States, the demand for technologically capable workers is substantial. School districts need to offer
technology curriculum that better prepares students for the world of work or for advanced training. With fewer
students and reduced financial resources, it is becoming more difficult for small, rural schools to provide these
education opportunities in the areas of technology. Wessington Springs School District has identified the need for
these opportunities for students and provides independent-study courses in several areas of technology.
This website provides a sequence of coursework for the Arts, A/V Technology and Communications Career
Cluster and the information Technology Career Cluster that prepares students for additional postsecondary
education and/or for the world of work. These courses are offered to the students enrolled at Wessington
Springs High School as part of their educational experience.
